Not a Cookie-Cutter Christmas

Marley

It’s the most magical time of year: colorful lights, snow flurries, my bakery cases filled with festive cookies.

I have it all… until I don’t.

My fiancé drains my accounts and leaves me for another woman. If that’s not enough to ruin my Christmas, I’m being evicted and forced to close my bakery. So, I do what any woman in my position would do: I make a deal with the sexy man delivering the eviction notice.

Except now, he’s stopping in for coffee every day to keep an eye on me. I know he wants me to fail, but I refuse to give up.

Everything I want is within reach. If I stay the course, my future is set. It’s that simple.

Except then I make the stupidest move of my career: I accept a deal with the cute baker without talking to my boss. It doesn’t help that he also happens to be my future father-in-law. Now, he wants to ensure she fails. My job and my engagement depend on it, but from everything I’ve learned about Marley Winters, her determination won’t let that happen.

The more I check up on her, the more I question my life choices and my Christmas spirit, and the less I want her to fail. I’m buying coffee, helping with events, and even helping her scope out other locations for her bakery.

Every move I make is sure to ruin my future, but I can’t seem to stay away. I’m supposed to be “team evict her,” but Marley Winters has melted a hole in my cold heart.
