For Madison Miller, getting pregnant was not part of the plan.
Still, she loved Lincoln, and he loved her, so when he asked her to marry him, it felt like a dream come true.
But in the blink of an eye, and what seems like a random act of violence, Madison’s happy ever after turned into a living, breathing nightmare.

Gabriel Montgomery was a man set in his ways. He believes in family and duty. But that duty drove a rift between him and his brother, Lincoln.
When Linc dies, Gabriel is overwhelmed with guilt. He believes that his actions had somehow led to his brother’s death.

When Gabriel meets Madison, he is confused at first why his brother would have chosen someone like her. They were from such different worlds. But again, Gabriel is a man of obligation, which makes him step up and offer Madison a safe place when she needs it most.
